Sauce

Red sauce is not my favorite topping for pasta.

I enjoy the more fattening cream sauces.

But my friend Andrea makes THE best red sauce EVER.

And she gave me the recipe for my bridal shower.

mmmmmm sauce.

Sauce

1 lb hot italian sausage

2 tablespoon of olive oil

1 onion

handful of basil

4-5 cloves of minced garlic

1 zucchini grated

1 tablespoon crushed red pepper

2 28 oz cans crushed tomatoes in puree

S & P to taste

Cooked pasta of your choice

1. Heat olive oil in large pan, adding sausage, breaking with a spoon to brown.

2. Once sausage is browned add basil, garlic, onion and sauté about 5 minutes.

3. Add grated zucchini and cook for another 5 minutes.

4. Add 2 cans tomato puree and crushed red pepper.

5. Simmer 20 to 30 minutes.

Serve over your favorite pasta.

And possibly add  some garlic bread.
